During the last three days of January 2016 "THE RUSSIAN WINTER" has ruled on the legendary Lausanne Opera stage. This cultural project, presented to the Swiss audience by the Honorary Consulate of Russia in Lausanne under the leadership of the Honorary Consul Mr. Frederik Paulsen, hailed great success.
"THE RUSSIAN WINTER" started with the performance of the leading ballet dancers and soloists of the best Russian theaters. The festival ended with a stunning recital of a rising opera star - Julia Lezhneva.
In between these two classical evenings, on January 30, the spectators themselves occupied the Lausanne Opera stage. Guests had an exciting opportunity to be seated at tables on the stage of the opera house in the company of "Quartet I" during the fabulous Russian "Goluboi Ogoniok" gala night, for the first time organized in Switzerland by Ms. Zlata Smirnova.
Perhaps for the first time ever, the stage of the Lausanne Opera was not occupied by performers, but by members of the audience - it was a real Russian "Goluboi Ogoniok", an absolutely unique Russian winter holiday tradition. This entertaining dinner-concert accompanies the New Year celebrations in Russia since the creation of television.
Great interest to this exceptional form of Russian entertainment was marked by a sellout status of the evening.
The lucky ticket holders had an opportunity to experience a truly magical atmosphere - tables were set on the opera stage, the big screen gave way to footage of the beloved nostalgic Russian films and guests were served a delicious dinner 'à la russe' accompanied by champagne.
What Russian winter celebration can take place without herring 'under a fur coat', meat aspic and salted cucumbers 'a la russe' ?!
"Goluboi Ogoniok" was hosted by the brilliant founders of the famous "Quartet I": Rostislav Hait, Leonid Baratz, Kamil Larin and Alexander Demidov. Especially for the "Goluboi Ogoniok" in Lausanne these renowned Russian comedians have prepared a special edition of the Russian-Swiss humorous "Not credible news".
Having spent an evening filled with laughter, guests continued the night in the company of the wonderful and talented «Light Music Band» from Latvia, who played everyone's favourite songs of the 20 and 21 centuries. Their programme left nobody indifferent: guests joyfully sang along and didn't leave the dance floor until the end of the night.
Among the guests were present:
Mr. Frederik Paulsen (Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in Lausanne), Ms. Olga Litviniuk (Cultural Attaché of the Honorary Consulate of the Russian Federation in Lausanne), Mr. Valery Loshchinin (former Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Office and other International organisations in Geneva), Mr. Alexander Kovalenko (Director of «Aeroflot Switzerland»), Mr. Vladimir Gugkaev (General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-Russia & CIS).
